NATURAL CERAMICS

craft pottery and cooking from the ground up

The pots I make are a combination of minimally processed clays I dig in alpine Victoria, or using clays from areas where I have a close connection, such as my family home on the NSW south coast.  The characteristics of the clays together with unrefined minerals contribute to the different appearances and outcomes from the kiln.

Little decorative inputs, aside from liquid clays, are applied to the pots with homemade brushes.

Relying on the interaction of the clay, collected stones, shells, bones or ashes, allows the kiln firing and cooling to bring life and depth to the pots.
